Dear Parent/Guardian,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to the 12th Chichester Scout Group.

Whichever section your child is joining, we hope they will have a fun, exciting and rewarding time. Like most things in life, the more they put into Scouting, the more they can get out of it! Your child’s Section Leader will be able to give you more information about the badges and awards they can achieve, although some may require additional work or activities outside of the regular weekly meetings. The Scout Association’s website www.scouts.org.uk will also be able to tell you more about the awards available.

We have a dedicated team of leaders here at 12th Chichester – some of them were Scouts themselves, others have or had children in the various sections and decided they wanted to help out – however all of them give their time voluntarily to provide Scouting for your children. Additional help is always welcome and sometimes necessary to allow a particular activity to proceed safely. Most of the sections run a rota system, which we ask you to participate in – again your child’s Section Leader will tell you more.

All that remains for us to say is that we hope your child truly enjoys their time with us, and we look forward to meeting them and you.
